A BRIEF HISTORY OF LANTERNS
When we think of lanterns, the image that often comes to mind is a person in the 17th or 18th century carrying a light enclosed in a cage with glass or an old oil lantern. Modern lanterns maintain this vintage charm but come with a contemporary twist. Essentially, a lantern is a portable light featuring a protective case around the light source, whether it’s a candle or an electric bulb in today’s world. It typically has a handle for easy carrying and can be either portable or fixed.
